Here are some pictures of our newest fire and water tables. These were made in conjunction with TC Products. The fire feature won the HPBA Vesta Awards in Georgia this year 2008. Unfortunately they forgot to mention our name? I'm sure they didn't mean to do this. The vortex fire is one of our newest creations this year.

This is a propane fueled Vortex Fire from our collection and design room.

The Vesta Awards were created by Hearth & Home magazine to recognize and honor companies for their innovation in product design and/or technology.

Awards will be presented at an industry-wide ceremony on Friday, February 29, 2008.

The reception and awards program will take place from 5:00-6:30 pm. at the Georgia World Congress Center, Atlanta, GA.

The next Fire and Water features were built for Cafe Vino in Denver Colorado.  The water in the holding tank spins and gets pumped up to the inside of the fire bowl which drips it out back into the water tank.

Cafe Vino Fire Water Cafe Vino Fire Water
The water tank has lighting installed in the upper edge. There are many different types of lighting which can be installed.  These only require a 16" hole for the upper bowl to come up and through. The tank is mounted from the bottom.

The fire bowl raises and lowers to increase or decrease the water/ white noise created.

The fire pit below is going to be installed in Sacramento on 11 14 09 for the Yard Crashers/ DIY/ HGTV show. After it is and has been installed we will post pictures on the Yard Crashers page. In the mean time here is the how to and why. We can build any size, shape, design feature you desire. We build to your imagination.

Below is the catch basin to hold the water for the feature.

Above you see the auto fill?

Below the water pump is now install below.

Below the top pan is in place for testing with the fire and water bowls in place.

Below the stainless steel ring is installed.  Below the glass (Bronze base glass) has been installed and the lights turned on.

DIY PAN 9 DIY PAN 8

Below you can see the pump has been turned on.  and now the fire.

DIY PAN 11 DIY PAN 10

We placed a card board template to replicate the table top to conceal the lights as well.  Now we add color to the water!

DIY PAN 13 DIY PAN 12

Here is the feature exposed with the blue water. You can change the water to any color you like.

DIY PAN 14 DIY PAN 16

This feature is only 6 1/2" tall. You can mount this under the table top and keep it only an inch or so above the surface of the table top.  So let's change it to red water and add Starfire base glass.  Remember, we build to your imagination!

The finished pictures will be posted on the Yard Crashers page when this project is installed after 11 14 09!

We consulted with Brett Parks from Indiana on his backyard fire pit.  The first picture on the left is his original concept drawing.  The following picture is his layout with pavers, electrical and gas line coming up.

Parks 11 Parks 1

The water tank was 6" deep.

Parks 2 Parks 3

We then built a custom shape stainless steel burner to fit his idea.  Stack a few more pavers.   Let's test it!

A custom size and configuration ring was fabricated.

This next set of pictures of a fire and water feature is now in Nebraska with Brian Johnson.  We will explain as we go:

The water spins in the lower bowl spilling over giving you white noise.  The lights on the inner edger can be LED or Incandescent, which ever you prefer.

Brian Johnson 1 Brian Johnson 2

A 12" center-less stainless steel ring is used

Brian Johnson 3 Brian Johnson 4

The glass we used for testing is Starfire

Brian Johnson 8 Brian Johnson 5

The bottom holding tank can be as close or as far as you like. The hoses which return the water to the lower tank can also be above the water line creating a trickling water noise. This can be adjusted to your desire.

Now with fire!  You can see the holding tank 24" below and the water is dripping into the tank.

We cut a pattern of a top to conceal the edge light. That is the border you are seeing.

The next Water Over Fire Feature can be made in any configuration, size or shape. We can install it in a table or leave it as a stand alone feature. What ever you like. This particular bowl is a spun aluminum 30" bowl with a 26" water ring and about 100 lbs of Multi Mix base glass. We added a few of our Terra Cotta Fire Balls in the center.
